Everyone has a place in the movement for life on earth. The People's Parade for Life on Earth is an opportunity to build the community that nourishes and strengthens us as we face the many crises of our time and continue our resistance for a better future. This is a time to create meaningful, respectful relationships between each other, with the land and water, and with all the other creatures we share this planet with. It is a gathering where everyone is welcome as members of one family, to celebrate together and uplift our spirits!
With the leadership of the Mi’kma’ki Water Walkers, our celebration will be grounded in ceremony and respect for the traditional ways of the unceded Mi’kmaw territory on which we reside.
The crowd will be made up of elders and youth, drummers and artists, performers and activists, puppets, costumes and more. All are welcome to bring your creativity and represent your community, your culture and your cause in whatever way you're inspired to do so.
The parade will begin at Sackville Landing on the Kjipuktuk/Halifax Waterfront. We will open in ceremony with the Mi’kma’ki Water Walkers, who will then lead the parade along the waterfront. We will end at Peace and Friendship Park for a community gathering and celebration, including food, activities and opportunities to connect with our community.
Here is our Route Map! You can come watch the parade from any point along the route.
