MI’KMA’KI (NOVA SCOTIA)
The Ecology Action Centre congratulates new and returning members of parliament. We look forward to working with the Liberal Party as they form the next government. We were pleased that every party had climate as a part of their platform; however, the dialogue throughout the campaign has fallen short of embodying the transformational change that is required to responsibly address the impacts of the biodiversity and climate crises.
Climate change requires collective action. The scale and pace of action needed to transform our economy is only achievable if we work across party lines to encourage change that is regenerative, focused on communities, protective of species and habitat, and ensures no one is left behind.
Now that the election is over, it is time to come together and get back to work.
We look forward to engaging with all parties to promote resiliency, equity and the collaborative action needed to safeguard our communities from the most severe impacts of climate change and biodiversity loss.
There is no time to waste. We must work together to protect the communities and ecosystems we all love and rely on as Canadians.
