Donating stocks and securities is a common way supporters make impactful donations to the Ecology Action Centre (EAC). These gifts can have substantial tax benefits and a significant impact in helping us continue tackling pressing environmental issues.
To make donating stocks and securities to the EAC simple and easy, here is some helpful information to use as a guide:

Fill out the EAC Stocks and Securities Donation Form. This can be completed by you or your financial advisor.

Email your completed form to the Accounting Manager noted on the form in the above link.

Keep one copy for your records.
The process of donating stocks and securities to the EAC can take up to three weeks to complete. EAC will be notified by your financial institution once the stocks and securities have been donated. At that time, the EAC will immediately sell the stocks, regardless of current market conditions. Once the transaction is complete, and the EAC has received the donation from our broker, you will be notified.
Your tax receipt will be emailed to you from the EAC within 48 hours of the donation. If you would like a copy of the receipt printed, we would be happy to provide that to you. It will be mailed out the month following your donation. Please notify your broker if you would like a paper tax receipt.
